The two little calves are prototypical of the excesses and crimes of dairy farming. Torn from their mother after birth, placed in isolation in a calf igloo, and fed milk replacer – both were left behind in their development and had thus become unprofitable and useless for the farmer, who then also wanted to dispose of them as “unworthy”.
We could not escape the fate of these lost animal children. Both were quite weak and had diarrhea when they came to us.
Today they are getting stronger day by day …
