Samaria II – Rescue of Lazara (23 yrs.)
Dr Tomana, our veterinarian friend who is responsible for our horses in southern Poland, informed us about the fate of a 23-year-old, almost blind mare from a neglected farm who was soon to be sold for international transport for slaughter. These transports are cruel. We cannot imagine what an ordeal they are for an old, frail and almost blind horse. We managed to rescue Lazara and today she is already cautiously exploring the meadows of Samaria II, making tentative contact with our horses and will now live in our safe care forever.
