We received an emergency call from a lady at whose gate a dog showed up seeming to ask for help. It seemed as if he had fled from his owner. Of course we immediately drover to her house. The lurcher was in pitiful condition, emaciated, covered in mange, fleas and ticks, and a frayed nylon rope tied tightly around his neck.
