We were able to save this 28-year-old pony gelding at the proverbial last second – he was due to be sent to Italy for international transport for slaughter in the early hours of the following morning. He had certainly been someone’s favourite and pride and joy for many years of his life, had delighted many children and served people for leisure fun. Stunned, we stand again and again before the betrayal of man to his most loyal companion. Today, Cleveland Amory gallops across the meadows of our boarding centre “Kollmerhof” full of joie de vivre.
