On July 14, we were able to buy the 6 female calves, Nur, Nirvana, Nilam, Narami, Norma and Nana, the 7 bull calves Nuntius, Nathaniel, Nepomuk, Nelson, Nemo, Niklas and Noah, as well as the 5 heifers Noemi, Navina, Nuntiata, Nora and Nalani from the merciless cycle of the milk and meat industry. These animals are examples of the abyss which swallows millions of cattle in Germany. The 15-month young Noah was a distorted image of himself after going through the final fattening stage. Disfigured by force-feeding and concrete slatted floors, he was no longer able to move without pain and breathed heavily when lying down. He was now “ready for slaughter”. The other bull calves had passed through the early fattening stage and were to go into final fattening. The female cattle were to be subjected to the ordeal of the dairy industry. The 6 female calves, only a few months old, were, as it were, a symbol of the impoverishment of animals in dairy farms. Once all the veterinary preparations have been completed, a happy life awaits these 18 rescued cattle in our large herd in Delicia Natural.
